Dimitri Barnias was born in December 1971 in Greece. From an early age he studied music and learned to play classical guitar and mandolin. At the age of seventeen he bought his first personal computer, to be used as a modern tape machine. He began to produce music shows in local radio stations.
In his early twenties Dimitri moved to London where he stayed for about ten years. While in Britain, he came in contact with the electronic music scene there, from techno raves in Hackney Wick to Royal Festival hall concerts.
In 1999, he joined a music production course at Gateway studios, Kingston, and started to record local bands there. By the same time, he started quietly to make electronic music and by 2001 completed his first solo work based on sampling & granular synthesis, solo dsp.
A couple of years later he enrolled to City University for a post-graduate music technology course. Listening to Resonance FM and attending Simmons?fs Emmerson concerts instilled in him the inspiration to complete a second solo work, this time based on vocoding synthesis, band reject.
In 2004 he returned back to Crete. He organized and taught computer music seminars while recording and producing many different artists there. In July 2007 he designed and built a music recording studio in Chania, Crete.
In the meantime, he continued to produce music. His latest work, Transparent, has been presented both in Crete and Athens with a great deal of success, while some of his music projects have been released in various netlabels across the Internet.
