The studio resides in a quiet residential area inside the town of Chania. It is build in a semi-underground garage space and it is only 10 minutes walk from the beautiful beach of Aptera. The studio has an easy access from Chania's National road, the Souda bay harbor and Chania International airport. Apart from normal recording studio services, we also offer additional services like hiring of local session musicians, renting of extra equipment for recordings (guitar / bass amplifiers), hotel and flight bookings for international artists and even more explicit requests after a personal arrangement with the studio. The studio is divided into five main different areas. The control room is based around a Tascam DM-4800 digital mixer (with two additional ADAT cards & a Firewire card) connected to an Apple G5 computer for recording, tracking and sequencing.
A wide collection of microphones feed our mic pres, passing through the converters and terminate as digital signals to the mixer. The mixer includes compressors, gates and TC-Effects on every channel and also provides a flexible monitor system to the musicians in the recording areas (supported by a Hear Technologies, Hear Back monitor system - each musician can dial up his / her personal mix).
All outboard equipment are connected to patchbays which are used to facilitate the communication between different equipment in the studio (FX / Compressors), therefore making recording sessions fast and flexible.
