ecoturn 2008
Ecoturn is a 20 minutes soundscape piece specially commissioned for the 1st Ecology Festival taking place in Chania, "The Environment". Sorry, but for the moment full description of the piece is only in the Greek language.
Το Ecoturn το έγραψα με αφορμή το οικολογικό φεστιβάλ “Το Περιβάλλον” και είναι το τελευταίο μέρος από την παρουσίαση για την Ακουστική Οικολογία που θα ακολουθήσει. Το έργο είναι βασισμένο στη περιβαλλοντική σύνθεση. Ο σκοπός του είναι συντεταγμένος με τις βασικές ιδέες της Ακουστικής Οικολογίας, οι οποίες στοχεύουν στην κατάκτηση ενός αρμονικού ηχητικού τοπίου, με λιγότερο θόρυβο και ηχητικές παραμορφώσεις. Ο τρόπος με τον οποίο προσπάθησα να δηλώσω την αξία της ηχητικής αρμονίας μέσα στο περιβάλλον που ζούμε, είναι προβάλλοντας όσο το δυνατό πιο έντονα την αντίθεση μεταξύ ενός αρμονικού ηχητικού τοπίου και ενός το οποίο έχει παραμορφωθεί από τον θόρυβο και την γενικότερη ηχορύπανση. Η προβολή αυτής της αντίθεσης πραγματοποιήθηκε ηχογραφώντας διάφορους περιβαλλοντικούς ήχους τους οποίους έπειτα κατέταξα σε δυο κατηγορίες. Ήχους της παρθένας φύσης και ήχους της πόλης. Μέσα από αυτούς τους ήχους δημιούργησα μια μικρή φανταστική ιστορία, ένα ηχητικό ταξίδι. Το ταξίδι ξεκινάει σε μια ήρεμη τοποθεσία κοντά στη φύση. Η ηχητική αρμονία απλώνεται μέσα από το κελάηδισμα των πουλιών, το τρεχούμενο νερό, τα βελάσματα των προβάτων και άλλους παρθένους ήχους. Το ταξίδι ξεκινάει προς την πόλη ενώ παράλληλα το ηχητικό τοπίο σταδιακά αλλάζει από τη εισβολή διάφορων ανθρώπινων τεχνολογικών παρεμβάσεων (αεροπλάνα, τρακτέρ, αυτοκίνητα κτλ). Ο ακουστικός ορίζοντας που αφήνουμε πίσω μας αρχίζει να παραμορφώνεται. Οι ήχοι της φύσης αποκτούν μια μεταλλική χροιά μέχρι να εξαφανιστούν τελείως φτάνοντας πλέον μέσα στη πόλη. Το ηχητικό τοπίο έχει τώρα αλλάξει και οι ήχοι της φύσης έχουν αντικατασταθεί από κόρνες αυτοκινήτων, παρεμβολές κινητών τηλεφώνων και άγριες φωνές. Η ηχητική σχιζοφρένεια της πόλης σιγά-σιγά αποκορυφώνετε. Μια ανθρώπινη κραυγή απελπισίας προσπαθεί να ξεχωρίσει μέσα από τον ηχητικό παραλογισμό του αστικού τοπίου. Ξαφνικά τα πάντα σβήνουν. Ο θόρυβος δίνει τη θέση του στην απόλυτη ησυχία - το κενό. Τα πάντα επιστρέφουν ξανά στο σημείο μηδέν. Η ηχητική αρμονία επανέρχεται μέσα από παιδικές φωνές και τα ήρεμα στοιχεία της φύσης. Το ταξίδι συνεχίζεται αλλά αυτή τη φορά προς τη θάλασσα. Με μια βουτιά χανόμαστε στον απέραντο ήρεμο βυθό... Επιστροφή : Οικοστροφή.
